Philanthropy

The Chaîne Foundation (a 501(c)(3) organization) was established in 1993 with a goal and a purpose of providing scholarships to deserving culinary and hospitality and oenological students, who will someday be staffing the restaurants, hotels and wineries we enjoy during our Chaîne and Mondiale events. A special get-together will be held during the Grand Chapitre to recognize our most generous of members - the Foundation Friends. Please consider becoming a Foundation Friend or renewing your membership.

The annual voluntary contributions at the time of renewal contribute greatly to the Foundation. Additionally, our auctions provide members an opportunity to donate items as well as to bid on those items.

Bequests or legacies specified in wills as well as endowments provide monetary support for the important work of the Chaîne Foundation and are tax deductible. Our National Office can assist you in creating a legacy donation.

The Foundation also provides various fundraising initiatives and programs each year which members and companies can participate. Additionally, each Bailliage is encourage to have an annual event benefitting the Chaîne Foundation.

Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs Competition

To encourage and promote the culinary expertise of young Chefs under the age of 27 by exposing them to a competitive environment with their peers. This competition offers the opportunity for the Jeunes Chef Rôtisseurs to showcase their talents and creativity in a fair, unbiased, and professional forum. This year's Hawaii/Pacific Islands winner will be an honored guest at the Saturday Night Gala Event.

Jeunes Sommeliers Competition

Our Young Sommeliers benefit by increasing their professional knowledge and skills through the competitive process, by enhancing their resumé through Chaîne recognition, and by meeting new people both in their profession and in the Chaîne who can help them succeed in the future.

This year's Hawaii/Pacific Islands winner will be an honored guest at the Saturday Night Gala Event.

L'Académie de Brillat-Savarin

The Académie de Brillat-Savarin was formed in Hawaii during the Grand Chapitre 2000, One hundred members was the goal and 119 members answered the call.  Most recently,  Chef Reimund Pitz has reinvigorated the Brillat-Savarin program and has raised tens of thousands of dollars.  Our challenge this Grand Chapitre is to match and exceed the $119,000 raised over twenty years ago in order to benefit our young professionals.
